Story Time in the library, Monday July 26, 10:00 a.
m. – 11:30 a.m.  Don’t miss the fun.  This will be the
last Story Time this summer.

“The Bible is the supreme Book on human
personality…From Adam in Genesis to Satan in the
Apocalypse, its portraits are
unforgettable…Augustine wrote how men wander
over the earth and wonder at the rivers and the
mountains and the sea and the stars, while all the
time man himself is the great wonder….how fearful
and how wonderful are man’s terrible and glorious
capacities and possibilities…It is said that every man’
s life contains sufficient material for a great novel.”
Preaching without Notes by Clarence Edward
Macartney.

Joseph, by Charles Swindoll is the story of one man’s
life, a man of integrity and forgiveness.  Read this
book and get to know Joseph.

Working Women, Workable Lives by Karen Linamen
& Linda Holland is about creative solutions for
managing home and career.  “Can there by
compatibility between my family and career?”  What
should I expect from my life?”  “What can I expect
from myself?”

Green Tip:  Whether it's summer or winter, ceiling
fans and roof turbines can save energy - that's good
for your bank balance and good for the environment.
Ceiling fans - summer and winter
Summer:  By moving the hot air around, it
promotes evaporation of perspiration on your skin
which has an cooling effect - making you feel up to
8 degrees cooler.
Winter:  As heat rises, most of the warmth you
want is close to the ceiling during winter. A ceiling
fan on a low speed can help push that heat down to
where you are. Additionally, it can help reduce the
instance of condensation on your windows. During
winter the fan will need to run clockwise; the
opposite of the direction you want it running in
summer. The reason for this is that as cold air is
denser, running the ceiling fan clockwise draws that
cold air up, pushing the warm air close to the
ceiling aside, which then travels down the walls to a
lower level of the room. Using as little as a hundred
watts, an ultra-efficient ceiling fan can shave up to
10% off your heating costs.  Be sure to buy a fan
that has a clockwise/anti-clockwise feature so you'll
be able to use it all year!

Roof turbines - benefits all year round
Roof turbines are lightweight spinning vents that
suck air out of your roof cavity. In the summer, the
space between your ceiling and roof gets incredibly
hot - up to 122F to 140F. Even if you have
insulation in your roof area, some of this heat will
still get into your living space. During winter, and
especially if you have roof insulation, leaving the
roof turbine vent open can help reduce moisture
build-up in your roof area. Up to 2.5 gallons of
moisture can accumulate in your roof space daily
from bathrooms, laundries and kitchens.  A dry roof
space not only helps protect timber frames, but also
keeps your insulation dry.  Damp insulation is not
nearly as effective as dry insulation.

Summer and winter, ceiling fans and roof
turbines can help cut your energy costs; and that
means less greenhouse gas emissions and more
dollars back into your pocket!

Green Recipe:   Home Made Lemon Oil Furniture
Polish

1 cup olive oil or vegetable oil
1 teaspoon lemon essential oil

Mix the oils together thoroughly and apply sparingly
with a soft cloth.
Wipe dry with a clean soft cloth, buffing to a
gleaming shine.

Note:  Substitute 1 teaspoon almond oil instead of
the lemon oil for almond furniture polish.

Local Missions

School Supplies – It is time for helping provide
school supplies for elementary students who may
need some extra help.  Stores are currently running
sales – please help by buying as you are able and
bring to the church.  There will be a BIG box where
you may place the supplies at the back of the
Sanctuary.  School supplies needed are such things
as:
               wide-ruled notebook paper
scissors (blunt or sharp tips)
               #2 pencils
erasers (pencil cap or block)
               crayons (24-count boxes)
colored markers
               colored pencils
pencil boxes
               school glue and/or glue sticks
school backpacks
Also, money is always accepted.  If you cannot get
out and buy supplies, we will buy them for you.
Thank you for your generosity.

OMP THERE - Today we have two of our Youth and
one of our Adult volunteers heading out to OMP in
El Dorado.  Our prayers and thoughts go out to Billy
Ivey, Daniel Spain, and Holly Bradway as they take
part in this life-changing experience.  We can't wait
to hear your experiences when you return!

OMP HERE - Beginning today, we will be hosting an
OMP camp at Cornerstone.  Youth from all over the
state will be here to do mission work in the Northeast
Arkansas Area.  We appreciate everyone who has
offered to be a shower house for these folks!  If you
are at church this week and see these young people,
please take a moment to say hello and welcome
them to our area.

YOUTH SUNDAY NIGHT! Since we have visitors to
the church, we are taking Youth ON THE ROAD!
Please have your Youth here IN THE PARKING LOT
at 5 p.m.  We will load up and take off on another
DESTINATION UNKNOWN!  We will also be eating
at Ryan's after the lesson.

REMEMBER - The word of the week last week was
THANKFULNESS.  What have you been thankful for
this week?

The July Mission of the Month is the Pastor's
Discretionary Fund. The fund is used to extend the
love of God when a need arises. In the past, the
communion offering for all twelve months went into
the pastor's discretionary fund. This year only the
July mission offering will go for this fund.  Examples
of possible needs are:
            *Help with a utility bill
            *Help to purchase groceries
            *Help with a medical bill
            *Help with funeral expenses
*Help with expense of a mission trip or
supplies for a mission project

Thank you for aiding in this effort to show God's
love to others.
