What is a Sunday School class or Small Group Meeting Like?
Each class is unique, but most start off with a bit of social time to catch up with each other, then move to a time of discussion about a Bible passage, book, or DVD series, and then end with prayer for each other and the greater community. Often, food and fellowship is involved!
What is the time commitment?
Sunday school classes meet for 45 minutes to an hour each Sunday morning. Small Groups that are planned throughout the year will meet once a week or every other week for about an hour and a half to two hours.

What other Studies or small groups are going on?
WEDNESDAY NIGHT LIVE -- 6:00pm Wednesdays January 22- Mar 18, 2020
Making Sense of the Bible by Adam Hamilton I Rm 213
Led by Rev. Sam Meadors, this study focuses on the struggles we may encounter as we read scripture and how we can make sense of this sacred text at the center of our Faith
The Grace of Les Miserables by Matt Rawle I Rm 228
Led by Rev. Kathleen McMurray, this study looks at themes from the beloved novel, movie, and musical Les Miserables. Over the course of the study we will examine faithful themes of grace, justice, love, reconciliation, revolution, and hope and wrestle with how we live out all these themes in the world in which we live.
Beginning Feb. 27: THURSDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY: Trusting the Covenant
Thursdays 9:30 AM I Rm 228
Cornerstone’s Covenant Bible Study will resume February 27. This spring’s topic is Trusting the Covenant. Russ Shain will lead the class. It will meet 9:30-11a.m. on Thursdays and will end on April 30. The class will not meet April 9 during the week leading to Easter. Anyone interested in the class should let Russ or the church office know. You can e-mail Russ at nr_shain@suddenlink.net or phone him at 870-243-4512.
The Biblical concept of covenant speaks to an enduring commitment between God and God’s fruitful people. It’s a promise—to live in a loving relationship with and for each other. Life, as we know all too well, is imperfect. Trials are inevitable. That’s why the final eight-week module, Trusting the Covenant, looks at the crises that sometimes call covenant life into question, and how we are restored to trust in God when troubling things happen. From the story of Job, to the Hebrew exile, to the apocalyptic visions in Daniel and Revelation, we learn how faithful love is at work in everything—to restore hope, freedom, and wholeness to our lives.
