Pastor Jonathan and his family came to Cornerstone UMC after pastoring churches in Springdale, Arkansas, Heber Springs, Arkansas, and Nicholasville, Kentucky. Jonathan has also been on staff at two churches serving the youth and discipleship groups. He completed his Master of Divinity degree at Asbury Theological Seminary and his Bachelor of Science degree from John Brown University. The Griesses served on the lead team of a church plant in Northwest Arkansas and lived overseas for several years as missionaries in Germany.
Jonathan has completed the Institute for Clergy and Civic Engagement, helps lead Unite jONEsboro (an interdenominational group of local faith leaders) and recently completed level 2 training as an assistant chaplain with the Jonesboro Fire Department. He is most passionate about preaching/teaching and using “fresh” or innovative approaches to share the love of Jesus with people who are not part of a church. You can watch his past sermons (and worship services) on our YouTube channel. When he’s not in the office or out serving the Northeast Arkansas community, you can find Jonathan playing with his kids, riding his mountain bike or tackling DIY projects around the house. You can email him at jonathan.griesse@arumc.org or follow him on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or on his website/blog, griesse.org. |
