Let's be honest, adults. All of us have days when we would like to go back to when we were younger and life was simpler. Maybe it's the aches and pains in our joints, the added stress of work, our never-ending social demands or the financial pressures we put ourselves under… oh, to be a kid again! But in the 21st century there are a lot of new pressures being placed on our kids, especially teenagers.
When it comes to things like emotions, intellect and spirituality, we all want to be more mature. In the Bible, believers are frequently referred to as children, not experts or professionals or veterans of the faith. That should cause us to be humble and see our need for each other and our Heavenly Father. When it comes to being "right" before a holy God (righteousness), we really are helpless on our own. Jesus' death and resurrection is the solution for that separation. Now we are are part of God's family (see 1 John 3 to read about what it means to be a "child of God). Jesus even says to look to children as the best example for following Him. "[Jesus] brought a little child to his side. Then he said to them, 'Anyone who welcomes a little child like this on my behalf welcomes me...'" (Luke 9:46-48).
It also means that the youngest members of Cornerstone UMC are setting the standard! We need to see them as leaders in this critical role of faith. We are actively helping our youth lean into their calling and into God's strength for their life. And our adults need to be involved, watching and learning as our children and youth lead the way.

Hey Youth! Have you heard about Cornerstone’s Youth Ministry? It is awesome! And it is absolute C.H.A.O.S! Seriously…Christ Has All Our Solutions!
We like music and movies and games. We love to eat, too! We also share in fellowship and Bible study. We do have fun, and we take our faith in God seriously. We really want to make a difference in our church, community, and world through outreach missions and giving back. If you are looking for a place where you are welcome and where you can belong, come visit us. On Sundays, we have Sunday School at 10:00 a.m. and a youth gathering during school semesters on Wednesday nights at 6:00 p.m. in the Youth (or “Cloud” Room at the back of the education building (Jr. and Sr. High). We frequently host a Youth Mission Day where we go out in to the community to help our neighbors with basic projects around the home or yard. It part of how we work together to shine the light of God's love into "dark places" where people need hope. We love making new friends and want you to join us on our spiritual journey as we learn to be disciples of Jesus. We can’t wait to meet you! Come check us out! Want more info?
